They say that time flies when you’re having fun, and Term 2 at BoPPA definitely proved that! Our students tackled some huge accomplishments this term, from Jazz and Tap exams to the Mid-Year show. We can’t believe that the last week of the term is already here and that the school holidays are right around the corner. 

It’s important for dancers to use the break to relax, recharge, and spend time with friends and family. However, it’s also important to keep your body and mind ready to hit the ground running in Term 3. Here are three things you can do to stay studio-ready over the break: 

1. Stretch

Flexibility is so important for dancers, and it requires upkeep! Over the break, try to find 10 minutes here and there to squeeze in a stretching session. You’ll be surprised how much stretching you can accomplish while watching TV, reading, and other fun activities. 

2. Sweat

Like flexibility, stamina is something you will lose if you don’t work for it. Over the holidays, find a fun way to sweat when you can! Give yourself some time to work on abdominal exercises, ride your bike, go for a walk, or do another kind of activity that gets your heart rate up. 

3. Review

When Term 4 begins, Ballet exams and competitions will sneak right up on us! Don’t get caught unprepared. During the holidays, be sure to review your choreography and exam materials from time to time. Pop onto Movitae if you have a few minutes free or work on your choreography with a friend if you hang out together. This way, you’ll be ready to go when we come back after the break.
